De L'Europe (for concern)
Another dream assignment that went nightmarish: Hotel de l'Europe. A first-class hotel address in the center of Amsterdam was ready for extension. Two additional buildings adjacent to the hotel were to be connected and designed to house 40 new suites, a wellness area and conference rooms. Working with the latest visualization techniques we created elegant room continuums, based on classical setups, but at the same time linking modernism and the arts and crafts movement. Entree, salon, boudoir, bedroom and spacious bathrooms accommodated the program and would have set new standards for elegance and luxury, totally customized by computer design. Havong made every suite a unique masterpiece, the client withdrew from the assignment and chose another interior architect.
